Broadway favorite Mary Testa will return to Joe's Pub in October with a new cabaret act.

Entitled A Work in Progress, the acclaimed singing actress will perform at the intimate cabaret Oct. 29 and 30 at 9:30 PM. Jonathan Freeman, Testa's 42nd Street co-star, will direct the evening, which will feature musical direction by her collaborator Michael Starobin.

The premise of Testa's new show, according to press notes, is "the concept of a sleepless night; an active mind." Cabaretgoers can expect to hear tunes by Rusty Magee, Michael John LaChiusa, Ricky Ian Gordon, Jill Solbule, Bolcum and Weinstein.

On Broadway Mary Testa has been seen in Chicago, Barnum, Marilyn, The Rink, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, On the Town, Marie Christine and 42nd Street, earning Tony nominations for her work in On the Town and 42nd Street.
