A Salute to Dorothy Loudon Scheduled for June 1

The Manhattan branch of the Museum of Television & Radio will celebrate the late Broadway actress Dorothy Loudon June 1.
A Salute to Broadway's Dorothy Loudon is scheduled to begin at 6 PM and will be hosted by Loudon's long-time manager and friend Lionel Larner. The salute, which is open to the public, will feature a 60-minute reel of vintage Loudon performances.
Attendees can expect to see "numbers from the Tony Awards [telecasts], including 'Easy Street' from Annie and 'Fifty Percent' from Ballroom; a 'New York Medley' of songs performed by Loudon and Eileen Farrell in 1963 on 'The Garry Moore Show'; a medley of 'Losing My Mind' and 'You Could Drive a Person Crazy' from Sondheim: A Celebration at Carnegie Hall (1993); and excerpts from 'The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson,' from 'The Dick Cavett Show' (1980), and from a 1987 unaired pilot, 'The Sid Caesar Show.'" A rare audio performance of "There'll Be No Tunes on This Old Piano" will also be played.
Best remembered for her Tony-winning turn as Miss Hannigan in Annie, the late Dorothy Loudon's numerous theatrical credits also include Jerry's Girls, Noises Off, The West Side Waltz, Sweeney Todd, Ballroom, The Women, Three Men on a Horse, The Fig Leaves Are Falling, Noel Coward's Sweet Potato and Nowhere to Go But Up.
