Honour — with Diana Rigg — Begins London Previews Feb. 7

While the critically acclaimed Broadway production of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, starring Kathleen Turner, enters its second week, Hounour — another play about a dysfunctional marriage — starts previews at the Wyndham's Theatre Feb. 7, a week before the official opening on Feb. 14.

In the revival of Joanna Murray-Smith's play, Diana Rigg returns to London’s West End as the betrayed wife Honor in a new production directed by David Grindley (Some Girl(s), The Philanthropist, National Anthems). Martin Jarvis takes on the role of Honor's adulterous husband George.

A familiar face to television and stage audiences, Jarvis was last seen in the BBC’s recent “Rediscover Shakespeare” series in which he played Leonard in Much Ado About Nothing. Jarvis also played the title role in the Broadway production of By Jeeves.

Murray-Smith’s tragicomedy charts the disintegration of a long-standing marriage between a couple in late middle-age. The play received its U.K. premiere on the National Theatre’s Cottesloe stage in 2003.

Natascha McElhone plays Claudia, the young TV journalist whose charms tempt George into adultery.

McElhone is best known for her work in such films as “Solaris,” “The Truman Show” and “Ladies in Lavender.” Her stage credits include London productions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Richard III , both at the Open Air Theatre, Regent’s Park.

Georgina Rich plays Sophie, the grown-up daughter of the broken marriage.

Rigg was last seen in the West End in Michael Grandage’s production of Tennessee Williams’ Suddenly Last Summer. Her many previous stage credits include Humble Boy, Mother Courage and Medea . But the last time she appeared as one half of a dysfunctional marriage was with David Suchet in the previous London production of Albee's Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? in 1996-97.
