Broadway stars Christopher Innvar and Manu Narayan — known for their turns in Les Miserables and Bombay Dreams, respectively — begin performances in Henry Adam's The People Next Door at Yale Repertory Theatre, Jan. 13.

Evan Yionoulis (The Violet Hour, Everett Beekin) directs the work which opens Jan. 19 at the Connecticut venue for a run through Feb. 4.

In The People Next Door, a British man survives the post-9/11 panic by playing video games, collecting disability checks and tending to his reefer in his flat until a crazy cop enlists him in a covert counter-terrorism operation.

Innvar (Victor/ Victoria, Floyd Collins, A New Brain) and Narayan (Fucking A, , The Unknown, national tour of Miss Saigon) appear with Marcia Jean Kurtz (Everett Beekin, When She Danced, The Loman Family Picnic) and James Miles (Stockholm Brooklyn, In the Heights, Glow) as Marco.

The design team for The People Next Door features Kanae Heike (scenic), Kate Cusack (costume), Cat Tate (lighting) and Sharath Patel (sound and original music). Stephen Gabis serves as dialect coach and Rick Sordelet handles fight direction. Carla Mastraccio is the dramaturg and Shawn Senavinin is stage manager.

Adam's People Next Door previously played at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and in Europe. Other works include Among Broken Hearts, An Clo Mor, Millennium – Angels of Paris, The Widow and The Abattoir.

Director Yionoulis is a resident director at Yale Rep where she has staged The King Stag, Heaven and Galileo. Other credits include Three Days of Rain, The Real Thing, 36 Views and Ten Unknowns. She is currently slated to direct Howard Brenton's Sore Throats Off-Broadway for Theatre for a New Audience this spring.

Tickets for The People Next Door are available at the Yale Rep Box Office (1120 Chapel Street at York Street in New Haven, CT), by phone at (203) 432-1234 and online at www.yalerep.org.
