The cast of Tim Herlihy, Chad Beguelin and Matthew Sklar's new musical The Wedding Singer gathered this morning for a press preview at the 42nd Street Studios.

The show, which will have its world premiere at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre ahead of an April 29 opening on Broadway, is based on the New Line film that starred Adam Sandler. The musical tells the story of Robbie Hart, a wedding singer who falls for lovely waitress Julia. Unfortunately, Julia is about to be married, so unless Robbie can pull off a miracle, he will lose the girl of his dreams forever.

At left are the musical's Robbie (Stephen Lynch) and Julia (Laura Benanti). Below, members of the cast are seen performing the show's finale.

The Wedding Singer, directed by John Rando and choreographed by Rob Ashford, begins its Seattle previews on January 31 and Broadway previews at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on March 30.
